Dreams
With each passing year I have dreamt a thousand (or more) dreams. Perhaps a handful or slightly more have been truly remembered. Many a charlatan would have you believe a dream is a wish, desire, ambition, or goal. It is not. Rather, a dream is an involuntary series of images, events and feelings occurring in your mind while you are asleep. Often, but not always, a life event experienced while awake can influence our dreams.
Daydreams
Although strolling through the valley of dreams might lead to subconscious ecstasy, it also risks exposure to unimaginable horrors. Most dreams, however, are just mundane flirtations in an abstract reality and soon forgotten, if remembered at all. A daydream, on the other hand, as defined by the Cambridge Dictionary is “a series of pleasant thoughts about something you would prefer to be doing, or something you would like to achieve in the future,” or as the Oxford Learners Dictionaries states: “pleasant thoughts that make you forget about the present,” thus making the Daydreamer the author of its existence.
Vision & Mission
For every dream that has slipped through the dream catcher’s web, I have caught one thousand (or more) daydreams strolling throughout the meadows of my mind. It is through the wanderings that one can escape the everyday doldrums. Temporarily forget life’s struggles by quietly strolling the meadows with no apparent destination other than the intent of losing oneself. However, take a carefully planned expedition, and the imagination is unleashed to compose lyrics or poetry, develop ideas and ideologies, cultivate the seeds of invention, or even create fantastic stories of adventure, intrigue, romance, and more. It is here where I intend to record some of the journeys taken through the meadows of my mind.
