Tell Me Something

Why are some truths,
…revealed for all to see,
…at times hastily discarded,
…to the depths of the sea?
You tell the world your life,
…is yours alone to control.
So you answer to no one,
…as THE god of your soul.
You take whatever you desire.
Yet one thing you cannot reap…
Answers to unbidden questions,
…revealed while you sleep.

So tell me something…

Just what was the lie,
…you were deceitfully told,
…causing your conscience,
…to wither n’ fold?
And what would you,
…be so bold to tell,
…if foolishly you thought,
…your only destiny was hell?
Or perhaps you think there is,
…no life after ahead.
So just for a moment now,
please indulge me instead.

And tell Him something…

you think matters naught,
And He will tell you something,
…to give pause for thought.
Tell Him something,
…you wished never to know,
And He will tell you something,
…that will cause hope to grow.
Tell Him something,
…you did not want to hear,
And He will tell you something,
…that can remove all fear.
Yes, tell Him the torment,
…you most often ponder.
And He will show you The Way…
